cyber bullying?

ONE of South Korea's most popular actresses was found dead in a suspected suicide Thursday, police said.

Her death comes a month after the suicide of a fellow actor rumoured to owe her money.

She reportedly was suffering mental stress in recent weeks amid unsubstantiated rumours that she had lent money to actor Ahn Jae Hwan, who was found dead in his car last month in an apparent suicide.
She denied the rumours, and had asked police to investigate who circulated rumours that Ahn killed himself after Choi pressured him to repay the debt, the Yonhap news agency reported.
Last year at least two South Korean celebrities committed suicide after they came under cyber-attack on their own websites.
In response, the government in Seoul passed a law to curb the country's notorious cyber bullying by preventing Internet users hiding behind fake IDs.
Major portals and news media websites must now record the real identity of people who post entries.
Portal operators are also bound to disclose the information when victims of attacks want to sue for libel or infringement of privacy. --
