Hi, Mrs Logan! I'm Ben from 11S102!
My interest on the hijack event is mainly caused by my interest in military science. The part of the hijack that interested me most is the rescue operation carried out by the Israeli special forces to save the Israeli hostages. The raid faces many challenges but in the end, it was a highly successful one. The preparation, tactics and the skills of the Israeli Defence Forces impressed me. If you would like to know more, you can search Operation Entebbe on Wikipedia. The current Israeli Prime Minister's elder brother, who was the commander of the raid died in the operation.
The incident also showed that how fast diplomatic dealings can change. Uganda was once close to Israel but when Israel refused to supply them with military hardware they wanted, they made Israel their enemy.
If I'm not mistaken, Idi Amin's crazy habits were caused by his advanced syphilis disease.
