she has advanced breast cancer but looking at her, you would think
she just won a lottery. Going out with her was such an eye-opener. It made
my little aches and pains seem like an ant bite..
This was a person who hated me ( and to this day I don't know why) and gave me so much grief. I had not communciated wth her for about 20 years or so.
But when I heard about her condition..it tore me apart. I don't know how she reacted
when she first heard the news. But when I met her, I think I cried more than she did. I just couldnt get over how stoic she was.
While she was on chemotherapy, she actually brought me shopping and even bargained for me..
She has now been given a clean bill of health - thank God
but it made me reflect on illness and what it does to a person
1 many often question -why me? there really is no answer to that
Illness has felled the great and the lowly;the rich and the poor; the good and the bad. nobody seems to escape its clutches - at one time or another
2 I feel very strongly that - besides the medical care, the diet and the exercise - the attitude of the patient is instrumental in winning the battle
3 My mum, who has parkinsons, deteriorated rapidly because she was gripped by fear. Her decline was so rapid and still is so painful to watch - from a perky, sprightly lady with a great sense of humour, who was the life of the party - she is now a shadow of herself - hardly audible, unable to walk unassisted...
4 There is no doubt that I have been affected by the news. But stay strong darling. I am sure yor parents are praying for you; so am I, and I am sure many other people are too.
5 keep telling yourself you are fine. Be strong - everyting happens for a reason - maybe you are going to be a guiding light for others in the ame predicament one day
My prayers are with you and your faimily
Focus on the most important thing in your life now - getting better.
God Blesss You
