LAST year, Mr Muhammad Fadzuli Mohamad Said received his diploma in digital entertainment technology from Nanyang Polytechnic, in Yio Chu Kang.
Today, he is a master's student at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, in the US, and just about to complete his three-month attachment with Disney VR Studio, designing online games.
The 26-year-old could not have imagined this turn of events 10 years ago. His O-level grades were nothing to shout about. He stopped schooling and worked two years as a sales assistant, until he had to enlist for national service.
But the computer games enthusiast found his niche specialising in games programming at Nanyang Polytechnic. He became a top student, receiving a Media Development Authority-ST Electronics scholarship for his master's.
