70 per cent to 75 per cent of the increase in food commodity prices, due to biofuels and related low grain stocks, speculative activity and food export bans.
The remaining 25 per cent to 30 per cent was due to a weaker United States dollar, higher energy costs and related rise in fertiliser and transport costs, he wrote.
